If default ICC profiles for printing standards or house standards shall be created it is often not possible to use the real measured printing sheets without modifications. It is rather desired that certain print characteristics like given ton value increase curves or defined Lab edge values for the primaries or a certain black behaviour shall be implemented in the final profile. The Black Correction tool is a tool to idealize the measurement data in such a way that added black behaves completely subtractive. This means adding black to a color only darkens the color but does not change its hue.
